Steamboat Springs and the surrounding peaks and valleys are located on the western ridge of the Continental Divide; regionally located in northwest Colorado, about 160 miles from Denver.  There is no shortage of outdoor splendor and recreation to enjoy with National Forest and Wilderness areas within short minutes of downtown Steamboat Springs.  Every season brings its own hallmarks; offering the outdoor enthusiast a veritable array of activities to choose from.

The summer climate is mild and comfortable; July temperatures rising to 82 degrees.  Winters average 170 to 525 inches of Rocky Mountain Champagne Powder snow; with temperatures hitting highs on average of 29 degrees in January.

The elevation of Steamboat Springs is 6,795 above sea level with surrounding peaks summiting more than 12,900 feet.
